Our Process

Phase 1|Inquiry Form & Discovery Call
The first part of the process is to fill out the inquiry form on the website. This provides some initial information about your project and what you are hoping to achieve.
During the phone call Elana will learn more details about your project to see how we can best serve you. If Elana Cohen Interiors is a good fit we will then schedule your in person consultation.

Phase 2|In Person Consultation & Proposal
During this 1 hour in person meeting Elana will get to know you and the needs of your project. We discuss what you would like to achieve in your home and the design aesthetic you are going after.
After the consultation, Elana will write up the client agreement and flat fee proposal based on the scope of work and timeline discussed. Once signed and 50% of payment has been paid your project has officially begun!

Phase 3|Pre-Design
During this part of the process we will work together to refine the overall aesthetic and design concepts for each space. This will include sharing any inspiration images you may have after which Elana will present a concept mood board to make sure we are all on the same page.

Phase 4|Design Development and Presentation
During this time Elana will design each space with specific items such as furnishings, rugs, wallpaper, tile, flooring, etc. These selections will be presented to you along with samples for your review.

Phase 5|Procurement
Once the final design selections are signed off on and paid in full we begin the procurement process which is the ordering and managing of all goods and materials. You can read more in depth about what procurement is here.
Our team will start by sending purchase orders to vendors and review each order selection for accuracy, confirm prices, lead times for shipping and delivery details. We will also inspect each product as it arrives and handle any claims necessary for damages.
For the duration of the project, we will keep you up to date on any delays, completed shipments and the estimated installation day.

Phase 6|Install Day
Once everything has arrived and been inspected we coordinate the installation of your new furnishing items with our movers and delivery team to set up your new space. Depending on the size of your project the install may last 1-3 days as we place your furniture, stage shelving, hang your artwork and add the finishing touches to complete your newly design home!
